The Nonpublic Textbook Loan Participation application is now available in the New Portal (NDE Portal) and will close on October 15th.

Who has access to the NDE collection?
The following New Portal Roles automatically have access to the application: District Admin-Nonpublic, Nonpublic Textbook Loan-District, and Superintendent-Nonpublic.

To request access, once logged in to the New Portal, go to Profile > Requests and select “Nonpublic Textbook Loan Participation – District” from the Role dropdown menu, then click Submit. (District and Proxy Admins can also assign this role to support staff, from their Admin Portal accounts.)

Nonpublic Textbook Loan Participation: Section 79-734 provides that the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) or a third party-vendor under a contract with the NDE, shall purchase and loan textbooks to children enrolled in approved or accredited nonpublic schools. Title 92, Nebraska Administrative Code, Chapter 4, section 005 sets forth the procedures on how the textbook loan program shall be operated by the Commissioner of Education or third-party vendor. These regulations require the administrator of a nonpublic school participating in the program to be the “designated agent” and indicate compliance with all requirements of Rule 4 before participating in the program.
